Israel's Fifth Hanukka Coin
Issued by the Bank of Israel to commemorate the Hanukka Festival. The coin displays an Italian lamp from the 17th century.
Description of the Coin
Front
An eight branched Hanukka candelabra from 17th century Italy is seen on front. The inscription in Hebrew, "Hanukkia from Italy - 17th century". The Proof coin is struck with a small Hebrew 'mem' below the Hebrew inscription.
Reverse
The inscription in Hebrew: "1 Israel Lira". The word "Israel" in Hebrew and Arabic. The date "5723-1962" in Hebrew and English.

Uncirculated: A Mint State coin struck on a standard quality planchet. The coin displays a matte type appearance.
Proof: A coin which was made with special care. The coins are struck with extra pressure using polished dies. The planchets are specially selected and polished. The coins exhibit a smooth and neater surface in the fields and a frosted appearance on the raised points of the coin. A higher quality strike. A small Hebrew 'mem' mintmark at the bottom struck on the "Italian Lamp" coin.
