Israel's Seventh Hanukka Coin
This is the seventh coin issued by the Bank of Israel to commemorate the Hanukka Festival. The coin displays a Russian Hanukkah Lamp of modern design.
Description of the Coin
Front
A Russian Hanukka Lamp with the Hebrew inscription, "Hanukkiya from Russia, 20th century". The Proof coin is struck with a small Hebrew 'mem' below the inscription. The uncirculated coin is struck with a six pointed star.
Reverse
The inscription in Hebrew: "25th Anniversary of the State of Israel - 5 Lirot". The word "Israel" in English and Arabic. The date "5733-1972" in Hebrew and English. The denomination "5" with the State Emblem.

Uncirculated: A Mint State coin struck on a normal planchet. The coin displays a matte type appearance. A small six pointed "Star of David" mintmark struck on the "Russian Lamp" coin at the bottom.
Proof: A coin which was made with special care. The coins are struck with extra pressure using polished dies. The planchets are specially selected and polished. The coins exhibit a smooth and neater surface in the fields and a frosted appearance on the raised points of the coin. A higher quality strike. A small Hebrew 'mem' mintmark struck on the "Russian Lamp" coin at the bottom.
