Israel's 20th Hanukka Coin
This is the twentieth Hanukka coin issued by the Bank of Israel. The coin displays a bronze Hanukka lamp that was made in 1574.
Description of the Coin
Front
A Hanukka Lamp from the Ashkenaz. It is inscribed in Hebrew, "Hanukkiya from Ashkenaz, 16th century". The Hanukka Blessings displayed on the back of the Lamp.
Reverse
The inscription in Hebrew "1 Sheqel" or "2 Sheqalim". The word "Israel" in English, Hebrew and Arabic. The date "5746-1985" in Hebrew and English. The State Emblem is at the bottom. The Proof coin is struck with a small Hebrew 'mem' to the right of the emblem. The uncirculated coin is struck with a six pointed star.

Uncirculated: A Mint State coin struck on a standard planchet. It will display a matte type appearance. A small six pointed "Star of David" mintmark struck on the "Ashkenaz Lamp" coin to the right of the emblem
Proof: A coin which was made with special care. The coins are struck with extra pressure using polished dies. The planchets are specially selected and polished. The coins exhibit a mirror-like surface in the fields and a frosted appearance on the raised points of the coin. A small Hebrew 'mem' mintmark is struck on the "Ashkenaz Lamp" coin to the right of the emblem
