In the background, the Golden Gate illuminated by the rays of the setting sun. Around the rim, "Panama Pacific Exposition" and the date "1915" at the bottom. The "S" mintmark beside the date, indicating the strike of the San Francisco Mint. Reverse: An eagle above the shield of the United States. An olive branch to symbolize peace and an oak branch to symbolize strength. Around the rim, "United States of America - Half Dollar'". Above the eagle, "In God We Trust".
