Grading
UNCIRCULATED (Unc): A note that did not enter circulation. The Paper is neat and crisp. Corners are sharp and square. An uncirculated note will have its original, natural color.
ABOUT UNCIRCULATED (AU): A note that did not enter circulation, but will display some minor handling. It may show folds at a corner or one light fold through the center. Paper is clean and bright with original color.
EXTREMELY FINE (EF or XF): A very attractive note, with light handling. May have several light folds or one strong crease. Paper is neat and firm with original color.
VERY FINE (VF): An attractive note, but with a greater degree of handling and wear. May have several folds both vertically and horizontally. Paper may be discolored, but still relatively firm. There are no tears into the border area, but the edges will show some wear.
FINE (F): A circulated note with many folds, creases and wrinkling. Paper is somewhat discolored and is soft. Edges may show a great amount of handling, with minor tears and/or staple holes. Colors are clear but not very bright. A lower grade item.
GOOD (G): A well worn and heavily used note. It will display strong multiple folds and creases, stains, pinholes and/or staple holes, dirt, discoloration, edge tears, center hole, rounded corners and an overall unattractive appearance. A space-filler for most collections.
