Description of the Coin

Front

The coin displays a miniature replica of the document that was signed by the 'Founding Fathers' of the State on May 14, 1948. It is inscribed at the bottom, "We hereby declare the establishment of a Jewish State in the land Israel, to be known as the State of Israel"

Reverse

The denomination of "10, 50, 100 or 200" Lirot appears at the top of the coin. The State Emblem is below the denomination. The date "1973-5733" below the emblem in Hebrew and English. The inscription "Israel's 25th Anniversary" in Hebrew and Arabic, in English around the rim.

The uncirculated silver coin is mintmarked with a 6 pointed star at the bottom. The proof coins are mintmarked with a Hebrew 'mem' at the bottom.

Uncirculated: A Mint State coin struck on a normal planchet. The Scroll coin is struck with a small 6 pointed star mintmark at the bottom

Proof: A coin which was made with special care. The coins are struck on specially selected and polished planchets. They are struck using polished dies. The coins exhibit a mirror-like surface in the fields and a frosted appearance on the raised points of the coin. A small Hebrew 'mem' mintmark will appear on the "Scroll" coin at the bottom.
