"Israel" in Hebrew, English and Arabic at the top. The State Emblem below. The Denomination "50" or "1000" Lirot, the date "1978" and "5738" in Hebrew. The Mintmark between the dates.

Uncirculated: A Mint State coin struck on a normal planchet. A small six pointed "Star of David" mintmark struck on the "Restoration" coin between the dates.
Proof: A coin which was made with special care. The coins are struck on specially selected and polished planchets. They are struck using polished dies. The coins exhibit a mirror-like surface in the fields and a frosted appearance on the raised points of the coin. A small Hebrew 'mem' mintmark is struck on the "Restoration" coin between the dates.
