Shabbat Candlesticks

Issued by the Bank of Israel. Before sunset on Friday evening, the mistress of the house lights candles and in the light of the glowing candles the Sabbath is received by all members of the family.

A three branched Candelabra from the 19th Century. The State Emblem above. The date in Hebrew and English.

A Candelabra of modern style. The inscription in Hebrew: "1 New Sheqel" or "2 New Sheqalim". The word "Israel" in English, Hebrew and Arabic. The date "5753-1992" in Hebrew and English. The Proof coin is struck with a small Hebrew 'mem' at the bottom. The uncirculated coin is struck with a "Star of David".

Each coin is encapsulated and housed in a custom display case from the Bank of Israel

Sterling Silver. 2 Sheqalim coin. (Similar in size to a Silver Dollar)

Sterling Silver. 1 Sheqel coin. (Similar in size to a Half Dollar)

Uncirculated: A Mint State coin struck on a standard planchet. It will display a matte type appearance. A small six pointed "Star of David" mintmark struck on the "Shabbat Candlesticks" coin at the bottom.

Proof: A coin which was made with special care. The coins are struck with extra pressure using polished dies. The planchets are specially selected and polished. The coins exhibit a mirror-like surface in the fields and a frosted appearance on the raised points of the coin. A small Hebrew 'mem' mintmark is struck on the "Shabbat Candlesticks" coin at the bottom.
