Judaic Art has been a tradition throughout the generations, and particularly since the Middle Ages, artists and craftsmen have molded and carved magnificent pieces of all kinds. The Styles and designs are just as varied, as are the Jewish Communities throughout the world.

In this series, three coins were issued, featuring items connected with Shabbat: Kiddush Cup (1991), Candlesticks (1992), and the Spice Box (1993). On the Face side of each coin is an antique item and on the reverse side, there is the same item but in modern design..

Each coin is encapsulated and housed in a custom display case from the Bank of Israel


NIS - New Israel Sheqalim

Sterling Silver. 2 Sheqalim coin: 38.7mm, 28.8 grams. (Similar in size to a Silver Dollar)

Sterling Silver. 1 Sheqel coin: 30mm, 14.4 grams. (Similar in size to a Half Dollar)


Uncirculated: A Mint State coin struck on a standard planchet. It will display a matte type finish. A small six pointed "Star of David" mintmark struck on the "Judaic Art" coins at the bottom.

Proof: A coin which was made with special care. The coins are struck on specially selected and polished planchets. They are struck using polished dies. The coins exhibit a mirror-like surface. In the "Judaic Art" series a small Hebrew 'mem' displayed near the bottom of the coin.
